It’s been another fantastic year where volunteers from the Gardens Trust and County Gardens Trusts have been working tirelessly to help protect, conserve and promote historic parks and gardens.

Each year we invite nominations to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of volunteers who make a difference to the day to day running of their County Gardens Trust or the Gardens Trust, are involved in research and conservation or who have reached new audiences to encourage interest in garden history.

We’re incredibly pleased to announce the nominees of our 2024 Volunteer Award below.

The Nominees for the  2024 Volunteer Awards

Buckinghamshire Gardens Trust were very fortunate to have three members nominated for Volunteer of the Year Award. Dr Sarah Rutherford and Joanne Mirzoeff who are the Buckinghamshire Gardens Trust Planning Officers were nominated by The Gardens Trust for their outstanding work on planning; we are very fortunate to have such experienced team. Claire de Carle was put forward for the award by the Bucks GT Trustees and Council with Clare Butler editing the application.
The winner of the Volunteer of the Year Award was Barbara Moth of Cheshire Gardens Trust. Claire de Carle was awarded a new award the Exceptional Achievement Award.
The awards took place at the Volunteer Celebration in Sheffield Botanical Gardens on 15th July.
