Apple Day and half term activities
Apple Day is set to be a fun and juicy experience at the Woughton-on-the Green Community Orchard, with apple-themed activities, crafts and games for all ages. On Saturday 19th October, 11am – 3pm, come and join a fun-filled session where you can learn more about the orchard and its diverse varieties of apples, take part in themed crafts with the Outdoor Learning Team and learn to weave willow art masterpieces. From face-painting to live storytelling, there’s something for everyone. There’ll also be live music and delicious food to enjoy from local vendors.
Sandra Adjei, Events and Community Engagement Officer at The Parks Trust, says -“Apple Day is a celebration of both nature and community, bringing people together to enjoy the rich heritage of apples and orchards. Our Woughton on the Green Community Orchard, one of the UK’s oldest, planted in 1976, highlights the lasting connection between the land and the people, cared for today by The Parks Trust and local volunteers from Mid Shires Orchard Group. It’s a day to honour the beauty and history orchards bring to our lives.”
