In the summer of 1928, 24 year old horticulture student Loyal Johnson and his friend Sam Brewsterembarked on an epic cycling journey. In just three months, they cycled almost 1,500 miles, battling wind, rain and insect bites, to visit more than 80 gardens across the UK. Most excitingly, Loyal Johnson wrote it all down.
