Our walk will take us to the city’s famous Peace Pagoda and its adjacent Sangha, complete with Zen Garden. Then onto the Grade I listed village church before returning by car to the hub of the lake for refreshments.
North Willen Park in Milton Keynes was included in the C20 Society’s “100 20th-Century Gardens and Landscapes” which was published in 2020. Entirely manmade, it is home to the Peace Pagoda (the first to be built outside Japan) and its adjacent Sangha, complete with Zen garden.
We will walk around the northern half of the lake to Willen village, with its church by Robert Hooke, and back along the old lane (now a cycleway) before going back to our cars to drive to the commercial hub of the lake for refreshments.
Meet at the Peace Pagoda car park on Brickhill Street (V10), just east of Japonica Lane. Pay and display.
Dogs: Assistance dogs only on a lead.
