Garden Visit: Tythrop House, Kingsey, (HP17 8LT)
A stunning garden not to be missed. 10 acres of gardens surrounding a late 17th century Manor House (not open), set within 60 acres of parkland.
The gardens have recently undergone some major changes, with a hard landscape design by ‘Robert Myers’ incorporated within the old walled area. A pool garden with grass-rich borders and a white and green theme. A kitchen cutting garden with a new glasshouse at its centre, a long oak arbored walk with old rambling roses. In contrast, the gardens around the house have a more traditional feel, with a large intricate buxus parterre, deep mixed borders, a large pond, rose gardens and many old trees and shrubs. For those brave visitors, a viewing tower to look across the striking walled garden and where the event photograph was taken.
This private listed manor house of 10 acres of garden features traditional and contemporary styles. We are privileged to have a personal tour by the Head Gardener at this estate. Refreshments included.
Parking for Tythrop Park -Entrance is on the left off the main road, A4129 Thame to Princes Risborough to the main gates which will be latched open. There will be a Tythrop Park sign on the main road opposite the entrance. Follow the drive and there is a car park on the left which will be signed. The Head Gardener, Phil Kusmishko, will meet us in the car park on the day.
Please note it is not the new drive to Tythrope Park Farm. It is the main drive marked with a gatehouse.
