THE GARDEN TRUST LAUNCHES IT’S FIRST BOOK
‘Unforgettable Gardens 500 years of Historic Gardens and Landscapes’
On the 22 October I was invited to attend the launch of the Garden Trusts new book Unforgettable Gardens which was held at Cowcross Street in Farringdon, London and hosted by the publishers Batsford. We were treated to a presentation showcasing the gardens by the editor, Susannah Charlton and a substantial number of the contributors also attended.
I am pleased to report that of the fifty gardens included in the book, three of them are in Buckinghamshire, Waddesdon Manor, West Wycombe and Campbell Park in Milton Keynes for which I wrote the entry. The gardens have been carefully selected to cover the 500 years and it includes gardens from across the country. You may recognise the cover image, which is of the garden at Rousham, Oxfordshire. There are introductions to each 100-year period by some of the best known garden historians and the entries have been written by numerous other contributors. Each garden is covered in four pages which are accompanied by superb photography throughout.
It would make a fantastic Christmas present for anyone who loves gardens, here is the link to order your copy/copies direct from the publisher. It will be available in bookshops, or you can order it online using the special GT Members’ launch discount code UNFORGETTABLE30 for a 30% discount if pre-ordered before publication on 7 November, or at a special ongoing members’ discount of 20% afterwards.
