Buckinghamshire Gardens Trust’s mission is to record and conserve the gardens and parks of historic Buckinghamshire and to aid in the creation and restoration of gardens, parks and green spaces in the historic county.
Buckinghamshire Gardens Trust (Bucks GT) was founded by volunteers in 1997 to provide a voice for the outstanding legacy of parks, gardens and other designed landscapes in the historic county, from the recognised historic locations to the lesser-known, smaller, gems hidden within the countryside.
As pressures on land continue or with changes of ownership, there is a danger that some of these special sites may fall into decline or even disappear. Our purpose is to help preserve garden heritage, through ensuring that as many sites as possible are properly researched and recorded. These reports are then published in the public domain, as well as playing a key role in increasing awareness, knowledge and enjoyment of Buckinghamshire’s gardens, parks and designed landscapes. Buckinghamshire Gardens Trust relies on volunteers and we are always looking for more. Areas you might be interested volunteering for include: research and recording; marketing and publicity; outreach projects including practical gardening; fundraising; assisting at Trust events; publicity to raise our profile; administration, with computer skills; responding to planning applications; event photography … or other skills a charity would find invaluable.
