A full programme of visits, walks and talks to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Buckinghamshire Gardens Trust has been published and members can book through the on-line booking system http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/buckinghamshire-gardens-trust
As numbers for each event are limited please book early to avoid disappointment.
The guided walk will last around 1 hour. Members and guests will be shown around the main historic landscape features of the park and given an explanation of how the restoration has been funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund project. Members will be able to see the exteriors of the 17th century Manor House, the pavilion stables, the almshouses and the medieval church as well as landscape features like the Doric Seat, ha-ha and wilderness.
Time: Meet at Milton Keynes Arts Centre car park (MK14 5DZ) at 2pm.
Parking: Free public parking is available at the Memorial Hall car park, off Marsh Drive, MK14 5AH. Disabled parking is available in the Memorial Hall car park or alternatively around the Parklands Pond, off Parklands, MK14 5DZ.
Toilets: As it is a Sunday, the Arts Centre is not open, so unfortunately no public toilets are available.
Refreshments: The Nag’s Head pub on Great Linford High Street offers good pub food and drink. Alternatively, The Black Horse on Wolverton Road is a good gastropub. They do have toilets.
Accessibility: The newly restored parkland is fully accessible. There are some gentle slopes, but everything is suitable for wheelchairs, buggies and mobility scooters.
